Hamburger Menu
also known as Menu icon, Nav toggle
The hamburger menu is an icon of three stacked horizontal lines that, when tapped, reveals the main navigation, usually as a sliding drawer. It saves space on small screens by hiding the menu until needed. Its downside is lower discoverability, since options stay out of sight until opened.
Don't confuse it with
Hamburger (three horizontal lines) opens primary navigation. Kebab (three vertical dots) and meatball (three horizontal dots) open contextual overflow actions. Bento (a grid of squares) launches related apps or products.
