Toggle / Switch

also known as Toggle, Switch, On/off switch

A toggle switch flips a single option between two opposing states, on or off, and its effect should apply immediately without needing a Save button. It mimics a physical light switch and is common in settings screens. It is best for system states and preferences.

Don't confuse it with
A toggle applies instantly and suits a binary on/off setting; a checkbox is for selections confirmed on submit and can appear in lists. Radio buttons pick one of several exclusive options, and a segmented control can offer more than two.
