Bottom Navigation

also known as Bottom nav bar, Navigation bar (Material)

Bottom navigation displays a row of primary destinations at the bottom of a mobile screen, each with an icon and optional label. The bottom third of the screen is easiest to reach one-handed, making it ideal for frequent navigation. It is Material Design's equivalent of iOS's tab bar and is used for three to five equally important sections.

Don't confuse it with
Bottom navigation (Android/Material) and tab bar (iOS) are the same idea on different platforms. A navigation rail is the same top-level navigation moved to a vertical strip for wider screens; never use bottom navigation and a rail together.
